Babysister!!!

Babysister sitting on a table.

Babysister is a Playskool My Very Soft Baby doll. She is from 1999. I got her as a Christmas present in 2004 so that makes her my youngest child. Babysister is a baby and a sister. Please, do not forget that. It is very important that you remember that. It is all you ever need to know. Nothing else is important except for that. Babysister hasn't changed drastically ever since I got her. The only changes are that she's really dirty now, the Playskool logo on her hip is completely gone, and she obtained a hole on the seam on her butt which has been sewn shut. She also has a few scratches on her face. Her squeaker still works! She likes to squeak a lot.

Basic Facts

Babysister is my little baby girl. She's so cute. There is video of me opening the Christmas present that she was in and I immediately called her Babysister. I was not that good at naming things when I was a kid, but I'm glad I had not changed her name since. Sometimes people call her "Baby" which makes her mad because she is NOT Baby, she is Babysister. I don't know why people forget her name. She is a trans lesbian and is dating Libra.

Here are some facts about Babysister. She is very punk! She dresses in a lot of punk clothing and kind of has that punk attitude. She really enjoys collecting knives and uses them to impress Libra by throwing them at objects or by whittling a small object out of wood. Babysister loves to play with her friends and her siblings. What she loves the most in life is getting to cuddle with her siblings after a long day. She likes to wrestle with baby and repeatedly squeak her squeaker. She also loves to play her guitar. Babysister has a little Tumblr blog if you're interested in checking that out. It focuses mainly on punk stuff.

Design

Now here is the part where I explain why I draw Babysister the way that I do. Like with Baby, she's already a human so it's easy to draw an older human version of her. Babysister has the same hair color and type being blonde and curly. Her eye color is also the same, but I used the dark blue of her pupil as her eye color rather than the faded blue of her iris. I did not notice that I did that until many months later after I started using that color for her. I don't think I would have liked the lighter color for her eyes if I hadn't done that. Her skin color is the same. I always thought that her skin was too pink for an actual human being, but I guess some white people out there are just extremely pink especially when they tan. I try to draw her slightly taller than Baby when they're kids, but as an adult she would be around six feet tall. Libra would be around five feet six inches whenever she's an adult. Babysister is also left handed only because I did a drawing of her based off of John Flansburgh so it just stuck.

First Rendition - June 2018

A digital drawing of Babysister as a child. She is holding up a knife.

Here is Babysister as a child. If Baby was ten here then Babysister should be six, but she does not look like a six year old. I was drawing them closer in age early on, but I need to keep their actual age gaps for future drawings. She is holding a knife here. She is into knives. I feel that this Babysister is nothing like her. I don't think she would wear her hair like this at this age.

Second Rendition - December 2018

A digital drawing of Babysister as a teenager. She was turquoise hair and has many piercings.

This is an older Babysister. She might be a teenager here. I really wanted to draw her more punk and I wanted to draw her fat since her doll self still has her stuffing unlike Baby. I think she would often wear her hair like this and will spike it up for shows. Her favorite color is turquoise. I gave her a few slits in her brow since she's so cool. She also got a few piercings. Since she is very butch she likes to have a little scruff on her face.

Third Rendition - March 2019

A digital drawing of Babysister as a child. She is holding a guitar and is wearing more punk clothes with black sunglasses.

We are back to a child version of Babysister. She is working on her punk wardrobe so the other kids know that she is a billion times much cooler than them. I like the longer hair much better on her than the shorter hair from before. It fits her child self much better and it fits her punk look much better, too.

Fourth Rendition - December 2019

A digital drawing of a teenage Babysister. She has turquoise hair with many piercings in her face and ears.

This is a nineteen year old Babysister. It seems like she only has one side of her head shaved instead of both sides like the one previous drawing. Her facial hair here is blonde instead of black like in the previous one, but her eyebrows are not blonde yet. I feel we are almost getting there with how fat I want her to be. I do think she would be thinner when she was younger and slowly over time gained weight as she got older OR I could make her fat as a kid. I'll think about it next time I draw her as a kid.

Fifth Rendition - March 2023

A digital drawing of Babysister as a young adult. She has a creepy smile on her face while she holds a knife in one hand.

Finally she is at the weight I want her to be at and she actually has blonde eyebrows here. I think she could have had more accessories, but I am glad that I have kept her jewelry to be gold since previously she had a mixture of silver and gold. Gold would fit her much better with her blonde hair. She also needs arm hair, but I was struggling with that. She also needs tattoos which is something I should be thinking about for when I draw her again.
